Columbia River Gorge Wildflower Frenzy Challenge

As many of my blog followers know, I am a freelance writer and photographer, publishing outdoors articles from time to time. It’s not my day job, but I enjoy sharing the beauty of the Pacific Northwest with others.

Here is the link to my latest published article: http://www.oregonlive.com/travel/index.ssf/2013/03/world-class_wildflowers_in_the.html.

I truly enjoy spotting colorful wildflowers. They bring a sense of beauty to the heart of those of us who enjoy visiting the wild places.

The following are a few photos of wildflowers, most included in The Oregonian article.

If you get an opportunity to join the Friends of the Columbia Gorge on one of their wildflower hikes this spring, do it!

  1. What an amazing display of flowers, some of my absolute favorites.

  2. Do you carry a field guide to flowers, or just have a phenomenal memory?

    • I always think of you having the phenomenal memory Spence.
Learning to identify wildflowers comes with practice and an eye for detail. Sign up for the Friends of the Columbia Gorge’s Wildflower Frenzy and you’ll quickly learn to identify the 20 -25 most common wildflowers. And, you’ll have lots of fun doing it.

  3. Fabulous, what a blog it is! This web site provides valuable information to us, keep
    it up.
