Rubbing the sleep out of my eyes, I noticed a peculiar visitor on our deck. It was a very small, green bird standing on the tiles near the greenhouse.
Grabbing the camera, I took a few photos while trying not to disturb the little guy.
After dropping off the camera I returned to the deck. The small bird was already gone. I let out a deep breath, happy that the beautiful visitor had been just taking a migratory break.
John — we saw several of these little green warblers passing through here in Bend the other day. Referring to our Sibley Field Guide — looks like it could be a Wilson’s warbler.
The latest rare bird alert from the Portland Audubon Society indicates that ORANGE-CROWNED and BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLERS are migrating through. Truly a fun time of the year.
