Clackamas Wilderness was enacted by Congress in 2009. The total size of the five areas that make up the Wilderness are less than 1% of The Bob.
Like many of the pocket wildernesses close to Portland it’s always a pleasure to visit.
The wide-ranging views from the summit of South Fork Mountain were obscured by low-lying clouds, but the saturated reds and yellows of vine maple leaves reflected in Memaloose Lake made the climb worthwhile.
A nice place to visit on a fall afternoon.
