Crows do have a way of looking stern.
One development in knowledge that seems to have occurred in my lifetime is the recognition that crows are capable of doing accomplishing many of the traits that supposedly made humans unique; such as using tools, conspiring with each other, and adaptive behavior.

Crows, jays, magpies or ravens, the antics of the corvid family are always entertaining. They keep me company on my hikes and often bring a smile to my face.
