First day of daylight savings time and what a day it was.
Sun breaks, a light breeze and wild flowers too many to count.
Enjoyed a nine-mile, 2,000-foot elevation gain hike on the east side of Catherine Creek Canyon, mainly in open Oak Savannah.
Besides thousands of purple grass widows, there were gold stars, buttercups, salt and pepper, yellow desert parsley and saxifrage in bloom.
In the morning deer were moving into the upper canyons.
Great day to be in the Columbia River Gorge.

Hi John: I use your images, the names of flowers, trees, species of animals, other elements in my short stories. The last one I used was the Antelope Cafe. The story was two teenage girls on their way to the beach being chased by a couple of local boys in an old Mustang. The girls took refuge in The Antelope Cafe, met the owner as she was closing up for the day and the story goes on.
