Aficionados of Mt. Hood always have a favorite location to visit on a midsummer day.
My favorite destination is the McNeil Point Shelter via Bald Mountain.
The wildflowers of almost every color decorate the alpine areas.
Storm clouds moved through from time to time, creating ever changing patterns on the glacier-covered summit of the mountain.
As I sat and rested near the shelter built from rocks, the crashing of boulders tumbling town the glaciers were often heard.
Another grand day in the Pacific Northwest.

We are going to Mt Hood this weekend and had McNeil Point on our list. It has been 15 yrs since I was there last. I was going to google for road directions and then I saw your email. Do you have any directions you can send. It would be really helpful. We do not have a lot of time but we are trying to make time for this hike. Your photos look great. I remembered all the flowers last time I was there. Do you think we need trail directions or is it straight forward. As I recall there is an optional trail we took on the way down that was more direct but steeper. I have been following all your hikes. You are definitely on the go a lot. That is great.
