North Fork Umatilla Wilderness Hike

The North Fork Umatilla Wilderness is in the Blue Mountains east of Pendleton, Oregon. We decided to hike about 2 1/2 miles up the namesake river to Coyote Creek.

It was a deep, brushy canyon with few views along the trail. The trail had not been maintained very well.

Thankfully, there was a nice, cool spot to eat lunch overlooking Coyote Creek and many butterflies to see.
