Time for Plan B.
Plan A was thwarted by bad road conditions, stopping me from reaching the Badger Creek Trailhead.
Instead, I spent some very enjoyable hours hiking in the transition zone where the hardwoods turn to Ponderosa pines.
Seeing many deer tracks, I began looking for deer in earnest. Soon I spotted three Blacktail bucks and many does.
For a long-time deer hunter, sneaking up on nice-sized bucks is always a treat. And, it makes for good photo opportunities too.
