Colorful Sights on an Autumn Hike

A cold, crisp morning greeted me with the expectation of a few snow flurries.

After putting on some warm clothes, I threw on the daypack and grabbed the camera.

Besides city streets, I followed the Wildwood Trail, Marquam Trail and SW Urban Trail no. 6 for portions of the eight-mile outing.

Autumn is always thought of as a time of browns and muted colors. But thanks to the moderate climate in Portland, there were colorful roses, berries and fallen leaves to brighten the day.
