In early May I hiked the 14-mile trail (1,450 feet of cumulative elevation gain) around Henry Hagg Lake on the eastern slopes of the Coastal Mountains.
The thunder clouds kept moving through but never dropped a real downpour on me.
Instead I enjoyed the many colorful wildflowers along the trail – – – three varieties of wild orchids, five different wild lilies, anemones, wild irises, orange honeysuckle and many more to count.
Five creeks flow into the 2 1/2 mile long reservoir, providing great habitat for song birds, waterfowl, wildflowers, deer and elk.
As always, to keep me entertained, there were many fishermen along the shore and in boats chasing the wily trout. Many osprey were joining the hunt too.
A pleasurable way, with a workout too, to have 5 1/2 hours in the great outdoors.
Beautiful shots!
Thanks for the kind words. Sometimes a cloudy sky and some raindrops make for better photography opportunities.
Looks like a divine hike in spring, John. Terrific photos (appreciate the labeling), thanks so much for taking us along. 😀
Thanks. It was a nice outing.
John,
You are in amazing shape, great hike, beautiful pictures.
Blessings
