On a nice Saturday afternoon we hiked an eight-mile loop from home.

Many colorful flowers were in bloom along the way. Small birds and squirrels were enjoying the sunshine too.

One fox squirrel decided to run across the trail in front of us. I always admire their smooth, effortless gait.

It was fun watching the little birds finding snacks to eat, but probably not so much fun for their “snacks”.
