Central Oregon
I visited North-central Oregon in February. Taking a break from hiking, I spent one sunny day doing a loop drive through Maupin and Fossil.
The Clarno Unit of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument was a highlight.
Driving north of Fossil and heading back to The Dalles, the rock formations were amazing.
What a grand part of the world!

As I sometimes opine: You can take the boy out of the dessert, but you can’t take the dessert out of the boy!
I love the Palisades area!
It’s a fun place to visit in the spring.
