Mt. Hood
On a beautiful late-May day, I drove to the east side of Mt. Hood. Due to the coronavirus, all the trails were closed. But, there was a promise that they would be reopened in several days.
With blue skies and fresh snow, the mountain appeared more impressive than usual.
I drove to several different vistas of the south side of Mt. Hood, before going to the Badger Creek area to the east of it.
Taking a short hike near Fifteenmile Creek, the towering Ponderosa pine trees and the fragrances of the moist earth brought back many memories of youth and growing up in North-central Washington.
Driving back home, I could only hope the main trails would open soon.
Nothing like barbecuing tenderloins after a long day of photography
The magnificence of Mt. Hood is beautifully highlighted here, John, in your wonderful photos. When I re-visited the area last fall, I was absolutely thrilled to see Hood popping up around the corner and always dominating the scene with its glory. I can only imagine how rewarding it must be to have grown up with this mountain.
Thanks for the kind words Jet.
