Pacific Northwest
During January, I had the opportunity to do some exploring and photography.
The first destination was the east side of the Columbia River Gorge. If any place is sunny, it’s usually the area around The Dalles. Instead, I was treated to dense, freezing fog.
The sun burnt through the fog to a certain extent by the time I reached the Deschutes River.
On the way back, I made a detour to Trout Lake. It’s a wonderful and small community north of the Gorge.
Several days later, I drove to Sauvie Island to see if some wildfowl could be spotted. To my delight, I was treated to a pretty rainbow.
Later in the month, I made a trip to the Coastal Mountains. During a snowstorm, several Roosevelt elk were seen feeding in an open meadow.
Back in town, I enjoyed the greenhouse and the views of the snow-covered mountains.
Just love the colors on that one you took at the Deschutes River! I love the Trout Lake area and views of Mt. Adams. Great pics!
Thanks for the kind words.
