Urban Blacktails and Cottontails in the West Hills

Cottontails

There are many small canyons formed by seasonal creeks on the east side of the West Hills. Some of the bigger ones have been kept as publicly-owned greenways. The Marquam and other trails climb through these greenways to the high point of the West Hills on Council Crest.

I enjoy hiking these trails, hoping to spot songbirds, deer, bunnies, squirrels and other sights in early spring.

  1. What an unusual coat color on the fawn (?). Nice catch.
