Painted Hills VII – Historic Cant Ranch

In early October I spent five days in the John Day country. On the third day of the trip I journeyed to the Sheep Rock Unit of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument.

After a visit to the Mascall Formation, I was off to the Historic James Cant Ranch on the John Day River.

It’s always fun perusing the period wagons, tractors and buildings from the early days. And, the┬áRiver Trail had many varieties of small birds to keep me company.
