Memaloose Hills Wildflower Hike

It doesn’t happen often, but thanks to the Friends of the Columbia River Gorge I have a new hiking area.

The Memaloose Hills are west of Rowena Plateau, accessible from the Memaloose Overlook parking area.

Golden balsamroot, bright red paintbrush, purple lupine and fresh green grass covered the landscape.

Only a few miles east of Hood River, this is a fine place to enjoy an outing.
