When the storms continue to pound the east side of the Cascades, relief can sometimes be found further to the east.
After a few days of rainfall in mid-October, I decided to take a drive by Green Ridge to an overlook of Lake Billy Chinook.
And, sure enough, I was treated with some blue skies. What a relief!
The landscape was dominated with Juniper trees, a few Ponderosa Pines too, and a scattering of mule deer.
While hiking in an open area in the afternoon with the sun shining, I spotted a pretty rainbow over the Lake. It made my day.

Thanks Sandy. Rainbows always put a smile on my face.
