Sauvie Island
On a cold and rainy day in early December I drove to Sauvie Island, stopping at the Wapato Greenway Trailhead.
The hike is always interesting, going around marshy, wildlife-rich Virginia Lake.
A side trail visits Multnomah Channel where anglers try their luck in the Columbia River backwater.
There were bald eagles nearby, and majestic Sandhill cranes to be seen.
Always a nice outing.
