Late Springtime in Portland Heights

Urban Deer

Portland Heights is well known for the rich colors of its springtime flowers. The variety of the old rhododendrons and azaleas are amazing.

And the new foliage on the trees is a sure sign that the new year is well underway. Many of the trees are native big-leaf maples. They are all lovely and contribute much to the beauty of the West Hills. And, they attract blacktail deer and other critters too.

The Cascade’s high volcanos still have fresh snow that sparkles in the sunlight.

Isn’t springtime grand?
