Waterfalls in their glory

The Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge has 77 major waterfalls. On a day in later February with heavy rains predicted in the afternoon, I took a short drive east of Troutdale to photograph several of the large waterfalls.

The first stop was 249-foot Latourell Falls, next was the lower cascades of Wahkeena Falls and finally 176-foot Horsetail Falls. To be able to slow the speed of the torrents of water, I used a pocket tripod and a remote release. It worked fairly well. Here are several of the photographs. Hope you enjoy.

  1. Hey there! I know this is kinda off topic nevertheless I’d figured I’d ask.
Would you be interested in exchanging links or maybe guest writing
a blog post or vice-versa? My blog covers a lot of the same topics as yours and I feel we could greatly benefit from each other.
If you happen to be interested feel free to shoot me an e-mail.

I look forward to hearing from you! Fantastic blog by the way!
