Painted Hills XII – Mule Deer Bucks

In early October I spent five days in the John Day country. On the fifth day of the trip I journeyed to the Painted Hills Unit of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument.

On the way to the Painted Hills, I hiked in areas where deer might be seen.

And sure enough I spotted many mule deer and a few bucks. But, none were big enough to bring my hunter’s instincts alive. They are always fun to see though.
