The dominant features of Central Oregon are the large volcanoes towering above the landscape.
They are at their best on a sunny day after the first heavy snows of the season.
After a series of rainy days in mid-October, the snow level dropped to 5,000 feet.
Jumping out of bed the next morning, I noticed some blue skies and the temperature at 27 degrees. The remainder of the day was spent taking photos.
Soon it will be winter in the lowlands too.
Truly exceptional photos! Each photo is pure highlight of the mountain, and the snow does a marvelous job of showing the contours.
Thanks for the kind words. It was a one-of-a-kind day.
