Late December brought below freezing temperatures and rain. Mix them together and out comes freezing rain.

As the sun broke through the clouds, the new coating of ice brought out the winter beauty of the maple trees.

Of course, it also provided for some terrible driving conditions, much like ice skating downhill on a sheet of ice. Even my studded snow tires and 4WD weren’t up to the task.

But the shimmering ice on the tree branches were a fine sight to see and enjoy.
