Dahlia Festival

On the Labor Day Weekend we decided to try something different. We read about the Swan Island Dahlia Festival and how the 40 acres of dahlias were at their peak.

Beautiful flowers are always a draw for us. Swan Island is the largest and leading dahlia grower in the United States, located in the town of Canby.

Upon arriving, we took a stroll through the fields of of dahlias in full bloom. I had no idea there were that many varieties of dahlias.

After walking through the grounds we entered their indoor display rooms. There were 400 floral arrangements of dahlias, the largest display put on by one grower anywhere in the United States.
