Vernonia and Goose Lakes
September was a tough month in the Portland area. We faced an onslaught of Covid-19, a period of dense wildfire smoke and continuing unrest/violence in our downtown core.

Vernonia Lake
I managed to get out into the outdoors several times during the month, but was mostly thwarted from accessing any wilderness areas.
It has now turned autumn and the leaves in the mountains are beginning to pick up their signature reds, yellows and oranges. Maybe the tide will turn to the better.
May the fall bring good weather and great hiking opportunities!
