Pamelia Lake
The weather reporter said it would be a nice day with the possibility of a few light showers. But, as I parked at the trailhead to Pamelia Lake, the skies were becoming dark and sprinkles were coming down. I put on a light rain coat, donned a daypack and began the relatively short hike to the Lake.
Soon I was in the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness enjoying a pretty waterfall along the Trail. After a few more steps I heard a large thunderclap and the rain began to fall in torrents. By the time I reached the Lake, the boomers had moved off but the rain continued to pour. I took a few photos that do no justice to the beauty of the area due to the stormy conditions.
Turning around, I returned to the Trailhead looking like a drowned rat. But, I was in good spirits. Any day in the wilderness is a good day.
