Mid-Autumn in Northwest Oregon


Autumn Leaves

By mid-November, maple trees and other hardwoods have few of their leaves remaining. Their autumn colors are now strewn along the trails. The rains have returned and the fall winds are blowing. Snow is glistening on the foothills down to 2,000 feet.

Roosevelt Elk are beginning to move into safe areas. Crows and other resident birds are searching for food. They all know winter is not far away.
