Winter Visit to a Large Ait

Island

Sauvie Island is the largest island along the Columbia River and one of the largest river islands (aits) in the nation.

On a relatively nice winter day, I drove to the Island to spot migratory birds.

Bald Eagle

Sandhill cranes, bald eagles and many Geese were seen. I also saw a few deer but they did not let me get close enough for photographs.

Still, it is always a nice place to visit.
