The Grandeur of Mt. Hood

Wintertime Beauty

Seen from sea-level in Portland or the Columbia River Gorge,  the 11,249-foot summit of Mt. Hood literally dominates the skyline. It is the highest peak in Oregon.

The peak is especially photogenic in late winter on a sunny day. Fresh snow glistens in the sunlight showing the rugged landscape leading up into the clouds.

A Kind Day for Photography

On the first weekend of March I drove to the south side of the mountain, taking stops at Government Camp, White River Sno-Park and Lolo Pass Road.

What a great day to be in the Cascade Mountains.
