Reminiscing about a once great Summer Steelhead River

Collowash River

The Collowash River is a tributary to the Upper Clackamas River southeast of Portland. At one time it was a great summer steelhead fishery. I caught many a bright summer steelhead in this very scenic river at one time. Now it is just a pretty place to visit.

Clackamas River

On a sad note, there was a huge wildfire a few years ago in the Clackamas River Drainage. Driving along the Clackamas River east of Estacada, one sees many signs of rebirth. There are wildflowers and many plants now growing under the burnt trees left by the fire.
