Hiking the East Fork Wallowa River Trail

The hike to Aneroid Lake from the Wallowa Lake Trailhead is one of the most popular in the Eagle Cap Wilderness. Getting a late start we decided to do a steep four-mile hike on the same East Fork Wallowa River Trail.

It was very similar to our hike the previous day to BC Falls. In fact, this day’s hike led to a 100-foot waterfall.

The highlights of the hike were the views of the mountain peaks in the crystal blue skies (no haze or wildfire smoke at all), the deep blue colors of Wallowa Lake and several cute pikas along the trail.

A nice outing on a spectacular day.
