Oak Island, but no Bald Eagles

I returned to Oak Island to see if I could spot some bald eagles.

Located nearby on Sauvie Island, it’s a great place to spot birds of all sizes.

But what makes it special is that it has a bald eagle’s nest high in an oak tree near the trail.

Sad to say I didn’t see any eagles on or near the nest. The nest is so large, there may have been eaglets hidden out of sight. I’ll return soon to check it out again.

In the meantime I enjoyed spotting little birds, bunnies, egrets and various wildflowers.
