After crossing Santiam Pass on a nice autumn day, I took a detour to the east at Marion Forks, driving to the Marion Lake Trailhead.
It was a very pretty hike which passed Lake Ann on the way to Marion Lake with its distinctive crystal blue water. The scenic views within the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness were priceless.
All in all the trek was about six miles with less than 1,000 feet of elevation gain.
A pleasant hike by any measure!
