It soon dawned on me that there was a special event for preschoolers occurring at the Oregon Zoo. They were literally everywhere.

Nevertheless, it was still fun to see the animals enjoying the a partially sunny day after multiple days of rain.

Mountain goats, tigers, and bears were sprawled in the open dreaming about wild visions of the past.

Due to Covid restrictions, I hadn’t visited the 64-acre zoo in the West Hills of Portland for several years, even though it is only one mile from home as the crow flies.

It’s a fine facility and one I always enjoy.

The big cats are one of my favorites to see. And, it’s a pleasure seeing young children begin to gain an understanding of the broader world they live in.

Did the Lions hear I was visiting?
