Late Spring in Portland Heights

Butterflies

In the steep greenways and nature parks in the West Hills of Portland are many places to spot wild animals, birds, wildflowers and butterflies. And, sure enough, in early June I spotted my first butterfly of the year. It was a painted lady.

Wildflowers

As early spring turns to warmer weather, a greater variety of wildflowers are in bloom.  There usually are pretty domestic flowers to see too.
