A Pleasant Hike on the East Fork Wallowa River Trail

Pikas

The hike to Aneroid Lake from the Wallowa Lake Trailhead is one of the most popular in the Eagle Cap Wilderness. We opted for a steep four-mile hike on the same East Fork Wallowa River Trail after starting late.

It was quite similar to our hike the previous day to BC Falls. In fact, this day’s hike led to a 100-foot waterfall.

The exhilarating hike offered breathtaking vistas. Crystal-clear blue skies, devoid of any haze or wildfire smoke, framed majestic mountain peaks. The deep, inviting blue waters of Wallowa Lake shimmered in the sunlight, and we were lucky enough to spot several adorable pikas scampering along the trail. It was an unforgettable outing on a truly spectacular day.
