Oregon Coastal Mountains

It was mid-June on an on-and-off again rainy morning. I drove to the Bloom Lake trailhead next to Highway 26 in the Coastal Mountains.

A rainy day at Bloom Lake

I had only done the three-mile out-and-back hike once before, and never as a 3 1/2 loop around the lake. It was truly a pleasant surprise.

The lake (a large pond) was very picturesque with the reflection of many trees. And, the hike to and around the lake was a visit to the past with much sign of old logging operations.
