Hedgerow Hairstreak, Memaloose and More

Columbia River Gorge

The Memaloose Overlook is in the Eastern Columbia River Gorge. It provides a grand view of the Columbia River, Memaloose Island and the Oak Tree environment on the Washington State side of the River.

A little further to the east lies the Rowena Plateau. A grand hiking spot is Tom McCall Point.

The Dalles Area

To the South of The Dalles lies many places to explore. There are grand views of Mt. Hood to be seen. And, sometimes hidden gems to be found like the old one-room schoolhouse at Friend, Oregon, essentially a ghost town these days.
