Sauvie Island
On a reasonably nice day in October we drove to Sauvie Island, stopping at the Virginia Lake Trailhead. It’s always an interesting hike, going around marshy, wildlife-rich Virginia Lake.

Hadley’s Landing on the Multnomah Channel
By autumn, the lake dries up and turns into a large grassy meadow.
A side trail visits Multnomah Channel where anglers try their luck in the Columbia River backwater.
A fun morning indeed.

What a lovely hike, John, thanks for taking us along. Nice to see all the autumn colors and flora. I always smile at “your favorite model” and enjoy your photos so much. I espec. like that first one with the reflections at Multnomah Channel…a stunner.
